For this exercise to become effective, at least eight nonregional countries must have subscribed an amount of not less than US$750 million, of which not less than US$500 million shall be payable in cash. Of the total amount, not less than 50% would be in the form of concessionary funds and the remainder would consist of conventional resources. Such contributions may be made over a three-year period, with payments to be made in the currencies of the respective contributing countries.1) The amounts specified in this paragraph are expressed in U.S. dollars at their value after the February 1973 devaluation i.e., at 0.828948 Special Drawing Rights per dollar.
