Any space appropriated to and used exclusively for the accommodation of the master, and certified as such, shall be deducted from the gross tonnage.
The deductible master's spaces may include a sleeping-room, an office and a day-room provided no berth or sofa-berth is fitted in the latter, a bathroom and wardrobes. In case the master's quarters are not adjacent to the wheelhouse or chartroom, a master's watchroom, if existing adjacent to the wheelhouse or chartroom, may also be included in the deductible spaces.
