Protocol bij het Verdrag van 1979 betreffende grensoverschrijdende luchtverontreiniging over lange afstand inzake de beheersing van emissies van stikstofoxyden of van de grensoverschrijdende stromen van deze stikstofverbindingen
Road transport is a major source of anthropogenic NOx emission in many ECE countries, contributing up to two thirds of the total national emissions. Current petrol-fuelled vehicles contribute up to two thirds of total national road NOx emissions. In a few cases, however, the NOx emissions from HDV traffic will exceed the decreasing emissions from passenger cars.
