Artikel 1

The Contracting Parties shall mutually encourage educational, scientific and cultural co-operation between the two countries by such means as:
a) organising visits by scientific personnel and other persons engaged in scientific research as guest professors and researchers;
b) arranging for suitably qualified university graduates, research scholars and cultural specialists on a corresponding level in each country to participate in seminars, discussions and visits to scientific laboratories and institutes in the other country, including the provision of facilities, such as scholarships, necessary for study or research;
c) promoting studies in the language and literature of each country at the universities and other educational institutions of the other country;
d) encouraging direct co-operation between educational, scientific and cultural institutions and organisations in the two countries;
e) giving support of every kind to the cultural institutions of the other country according to the laws and practices of the country;
f) exchanging delegations wishing to examine problems and share experience of mutual interest in the fields of science, education and culture.
