The Contracting Parties will promote contact and co-operation between organs and institutions for research and education in their respective countries.
They will endeavour to promote and encourage the exchange of university professors, scientists, researchers, teachers and students on a reciprocal basis.

The Contracting Parties will promote joint research projects.

Each Contracting Party will grant to nationals of the other Contracting Party scholarships for study and research in science and education and culture.

The Contracting Parties will promote exchange of experiences in education at all levels by exchanging experts, authoritative school textbooks and other teaching materials.

The Contracting Parties will promote the exchange of information on university programmes and curricula and courses at other educational institutes and schools of general and technical education with a view to making a comparison of degrees and courses.

Each Contracting Party will encourage studies and instruction both at school and university level of the language, literature and culture of the other Contracting Party and will facilitate the exchange of publications and research material for these studies.

The Contracting Parties will encourage reciprocal visits of persons engaged in literature, music, art, theatre, film and cultural promotion in the widest sense with a view to encouraging research and the collection of research material as well as promoting participation in conferences, festivals and international competitions.

The Contracting Parties will promote the exchange of artists and ensembles, and concerts and theatrical performances of works by artists of the other country, and the exchange of art exhibitions and exhibitions of an educational or scientific nature.

The Contracting Parties will promote direct co-operation and the exchange of artistic and cultural programmes between the radio and television services and press organs of the two countries.

The Contracting Parties will promote direct co-operation between the film institutions of the two countries and will facilitate the exchange of films of an artistic, documentary or scientific nature, or musical recordings from the other country, and the exchange of any other audio-visual media which may serve the purposes of the Agreement.

The Contracting Parties will promote the exchange of books and publications of a scientific, educational, technical or literary nature between the libraries of the two countries.

The Contracting Parties will facilitate the exchange of information regarding textbooks and encyclopedias with a view to obtaining an adequate presentation of the other country.

The Contracting Parties will encourage the translation and publication of literary or artistic works and presentations of music from the other country.

The Contracting Parties will promote the exchange of persons concerned with popular education.

The Contracting Parties will promote co-operation between youth organizations of the two countries.

The Contracting Parties will encourage the development of contacts between the two countries in the field of sports.

The Contracting Parties will encourage the development of contacts between the two countries in the field of open air recreation and nature preservation.

Representatives of the Contracting Parties will meet according to need to consider the implementation of the provisions of this Agreement.

This Agreement shall enter into force on the day on which the Contracting Parties have notified each other in writing that the pertinent constitutional requirements in their respective countries have been complied with.

As regards the Kingdom of the Netherlands, this Agreement applies to the Kingdom in Europe only.

Following an initial period of validity of five years, either Contracting Party may terminate this Agreement by giving six months' written notice to the other Contracting Party.
